Dagupan Energizer Night Race Set for May 21

The Energizer Night Race was first held in Cebu last year - July 10, 2010. It was followed by another one in Davao last April 16, 2011. Now, Energizer and GMA-7 are bringing the 3rd Night race to Dagupan on May 21, 2011.

The overwhelming response of last year’s Energizer Night Race has pushed us to hold it in more key cities nationwide.  What was unique about our night race was the...multiple Energizer head lights that beam the streets.” says Joan Mendoza (Energizer Brand Manager).
This nationwide tour of the Energizer Night Race in the country highlights the endurance of Filipino runners that keeps on going and going. For a registration fee of only P450, each runner will be given an Energizer headlight with three AAA Energizer batteries, singlet, cap and a Schick razor.
With the use of Energizer headlight..., Filipinos can now enjoy running safely at night without ever worrying on running out of power.  The Energizer headlight features two bright NICHIA white LED bulbs and one red LED bulb for night vision in a lens that swivels 170-degrees to prevent neck strain.  It has an ergonomic head unit with elastic strap for maximum comfort,” adds Mendoza.
Race categories are 3km, 5km, and 10km.  Three winners from each category will receive cash prizes, medals, and gift packs.

The Energizer Night Race will also support the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week in July while promoting fitness and health by donating proceeds of the race to the hearing-impaired children in Dagupan through GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc.
Energizer Philippines Inc. recognizes and promotes hearing as vital for the normal learning process and full integration of these children into a productive society,” Mendoza says.
Hearing aids and Energizer Zero-Mercury hearing aid batteries will be awarded to chosen beneficiaries during the Kapuso Night celebration, right after the race.
